Lake Seminole

Lake Seminole is a large reservoir located on the border of Georgia and Florida. The lake was formed by the construction of the Jim Woodruff Dam on the Chattahoochee River in 1952. Lake Seminole covers over 37,000 acres and has a shoreline that spans more than 376 miles. The lake is popular for fishing, with anglers seeking out largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and other species. There are also several marinas and boat ramps around the lake for boating, water sports, and exploring its many coves and channels. Lake Seminole State Park is located on the Georgia side of the lake, and offers camping, picnicking, hiking, and biking opportunities. The park also has a swimming beach, boat ramp, and fishing pier. The lake is also home to several species of wildlife, including alligators, turtles, snakes, and various birds. Visitors to the area can explore the natural beauty of the lake and its surrounding wetlands by taking a guided boat tour or hiking through the nearby Seminole State Park Wildlife Management Area.
